WHAT IS INTERNET FOR TRUST?

The  aim  of  the  UNESCO's Internet for Trust Guidelines  is  to  safeguard  freedom  of  expression,  access  to information,  and  other  human  rights  in  the  context  of  the development  and implementation  of digital  platformr egulatory  processes.

They outline rights-respecting   regulatory   processes and   promote risk and system-based processes  for  content moderation  and  curation.

They  call  for  States  to  apply regulation  in  a  manner that  is consistent with international  human  rights standards including with Article 19 (3) of the International Covention Civil and Political Rights which recognizes that any restriction to freedom of expression must be provided by law, and is necessary and proportionate, as well as Article 20 of the ICCPR ,which refers to those expressions that refer to incitement and propaganda for war. UNESCO is accepting community consultation on version 3 of these principles.
